House Plant Week: Seen in Green

Yes, that’s right, every second week of January, houseplants are celebrated to remind us that we don’t have to lose the freshness and vibrancy in our homes just because the festive period has come to an end. Not only that, but this week also serves to highlight the many benefits of tending an indoor plant, from simply helping to lift our moods during winter evenings to improving the air quality of your home.

For our current ‘New Year, New Trends, New Interior’ campaign, we created the interior trend named ‘Barely There’ in the studio at OHS HQ and with this, we had an array of indoor plants as props. To channel the trend and a boho vibe, we kept all of the soft furnishings in this set up warm neutral tones and used decors made of natural materials. This makes the plants the star of the room as the splash of green stands out amongst the sandy shades.

To re-create the look at home, first pick up a cream bedding set to have as the base layer in your sanctuary. Here we used the chunky knit duvet set from the Dreamscene range. This set is reversible so you can either opt for the larger print or the smaller knit pattern, depending on your mood.

This modern duvet cover is made from 100% soft warm brushed cotton but should you want to heat it up further underneath the sheets, we suggest going for the Brentfords teddy fleece duvet cover, again in cream, instead!

Layering a mix of different coloured/textured throw cushions can add depth to your space and make it appear much more inviting.

To add even more dimension and texture to your now centrepiece of a bed, drape a throw or two across the end of the mattress.
